  1. Dear Georgi,
I want to start by wondering aloud. I am thinking aloud because I came to your blog by googling a problem I had after installing mysql server 5.7.17. I just could not login after the installation as the system equally did not finish the configuration. While reading your blog, I just felt you were saying all the right things, but I still could not solve the problem that brought me there in the first place. What is the problem? I heard you ask. Error 1045 (28000): Access denied for user ‘root’ @’localhost’ (using PW: Yes). Error log said: failed ssl configuration. Please help me resolve this. Thanks

  2. Dear MySQL team,

I am a software engineer, I work on MySQL query optimization as being working also on a university management system that handles a large number of records in MySQL db.

I know there are many choices to speed up queries, including using indexes, query cache, straight_join and temporary tables as well. I have used all these features excluding query cache. I am using MySQL5.6.33. Can you advise about any feature that can be used to speed up the queries with big db size?

    Thank you,

    Darine
